Getting a good night sleep with MyHummy – Review

Sleep and my child do not mix. Since its been summer we of course have slept with about five different fans on, and naturally being a child, Robin has developed an addiction to white noise. Which is unfortunate for us because now its cooler, the fans are going off and our sleep is reducing.

In comes MyHummy and their wonderful range of white noise toys, I had thought that perhaps Robin had outgrown all those little quirks a newborn has and wouldn’t rely on the things new parents use to get a newborn to sleep. that was until then fan situation, So I decided to put these wonderful white noise toys to the test.

How does it work..

MyHummy’s main goal is to help get babies to sleep, Babies are used to sounds so when you place them into a quiet and dark cot, they clearly do not like it. Inside the adorable bear is a heart which emits the sounds that last for 60 minutes, which I learnt the hard way when, finding how it all worked, turned it on and couldn’t figure out how to switch if off again, but does also have a non stop mode for continuous white noise throughout the night.

What I found lovely is that the little humming heart had a sensor in it, for when your baby starts to stir, it hums again, which sounds so handy if your children often get disturbed sleep regularly, and with Robin, shes often up and down throughout the night because if silly things. Along with five different sounds to use.

What I think..

Honestly I love it, the bear has been welcomed into Robins bed with her other bedtime friends, and while we don’t turn it on for her as she falls asleep, it will be switched on if she wakes herself up during the night. It truly is something that I wish we had brought when she was a newborn as out of all my children, shes been the worst one with sleeping, we have used all sorts of remedies to help her sleep better, one of which has been white noise videos on YouTube but placing my phone in her cot every night wasn’t a good idea in the long run, phones can overheat if covered with blankets and you cant really stop the obnoxious glow by locking the screen.

Along with the beautiful bear, we received a lovely and soft blanket, which I cannot wait to get her under when the weather gets colder.

A Good Nights Sleep..

Since using our MyHummy, who is in fact called Fleur and switching off the fans, she has slept a lot better than expected. She has of course continued to wake up during the night but, settling back down again is no longer such of an issue. Often she would sit up and scream at us at 1am because she just didn’t want to sleep, but with the combination of Fleur and her regular night time routine, shes settled back down again quickly. Also whats funny is that I myself have been benefiting from our friendly white noise bear. I often use rainstorms to settle myself when I am finding it difficult to sleep but thanks to Fleur, I have found falling asleep a lot easier.

If you are on the hunt for a beautiful white noise toy, or even give a gift to someone who is expecting then I recommend looking into MyHummy, they have a range of different styles of white noise bears and toys to choose from, I truly wish we had got this when she was smaller and I know that when we get around to having another baby in future, I will definitely purchase another.

This is such a good idea! Even as an adult, I prefer to sleep with some sort of noise in the background – preferably a fan. I always have so I think even I, at 25, would find this helpful!
