    September Monthly Goals // Lifestyle

Good day to all who may read this post! Welcome back to another fun and exciting monthly goals. Due to the fact that my MacBook decided to break on me these goals have unfortunately been published a little later than expected but no matter, I wanted to once again share with you what I hope to achieve this month in September Monthly Goals. But oh well! Last monthly goals I set myself some tasks that I hoped to achieve, not all of them happened but I don’t look at them as goals ‘I must do’ rather than goals I aim to hit but its not much of an issue if I dont hit them. This months goals are similar but a little different, and of course once again they are goals that if I dont hit them all its no biggy!! S E P T E M B E R  M O N T H  G O A L S Be more adventurous – The goal for this month is now that my three children are back at school to go out a lot more on my own or with Neil. I am a notorious homebody and love being local… View Post

Harley Hound and Red Spotted Ned // Blog Tour // Books

Reading and bedtime often walk hand in hand, and although my two eldest children are strong and capable readers my youngest daughter Robin still enjoys being read to at bed time. When we moved it was her idea to create a book area under the stairs to house all the books we’ve acclimated over the years. But of course we are always hungry for more fun and enjoyable books to read together at bedtime. Harley Hound and Red Spotted Ned are two wonderful books written by Chris Jones, inspired by when his son was read books by his mum, and once it came to Chris’ turn to read the books, he chose to create his own stories and adventures full of superpowers and never ending tails. After dealing with the break down of his relationship Chris jumped back into writing a story he and his fiancee started and found working on the story and completing it helped him heal and with myself having had to deal with the breakdown of my relationship in late 2019 I can fully understand how therapeutic throwing yourself into something to deal with the heartbreak. We all come out of the other end with a… View Post

Back to School Tips // Parenting

Its that time of the year again, when the shops are full of uniform for the new term and there is lots of brand new books, bags and shoes being paid for by anxious parents. This year for my children and I, Back to school is a little more hectic for us as my oldest child, Kai is off to secondary school. It is safe to say we are nervous but excited and honestly cannot wait for him to start this new big stepping stone in life into secondary education and hopefully future learning. But the one thing that’s really helped us this year is being prepared. And I cannot stress this enough to you, being prepared is so important. For my younger daughters, Amelia and Robin they are going back to their primary school but thankfully neither child has grown that much so therefor their uniform from last year fits perfectly this year, I have of course had to grab some new white shirts but other than that, its been easy. How I got into Photography // Photograhy

One of my biggest passions in life has always been photography. For a while I was very limited to small digital cameras and even film cameras you send off and develop. But one Christmas it turned out my family had gotten me my first camera. It is a Nikon D60 that came with two lenses. I am not going to lie, I had no idea what I was doing when I first picked up that DLSR camera and started snapping photos. I didn’t know about shutter speeds or even how to take a good photo. I was using flash which I have learnt can sometimes blow out the photo. However I was ready to start learning and I learnt by doing. L E A R N I N G  C U R V E My first couple of photos that I took was of course during Christmas, and a family event on Boxing day eve. Once again as I said I used flash and therefor while I thought they looked good, Looking back on them I can see just how bad they are. And then I became the weirdo on a night out with the unnecessarily large camera. It came… View Post

Visiting Tilbury Fort // Days Out

Built in the 16th Century and situated on the Thames Estuary. Tilbury Fort is a wonderful piece of military history that you can visit today. Neil had a week off to take the children and I on some adventures and visiting Tilbury Fort was one of them. Kai, my eldest is really into his history, He doesn’t have a set history in which he likes he just likes history. So Neil thought it would be a good idea to take him as well as the other children to visit the fort for a day out and then head down to South end afterwards for some fun at the beach. T H E  H I S T O R Y  O F  T I L B U R Y  F O R T I could talk about the whole history of Tilbury, however I personally do not feel at all qualified to even start talking about it. Tilbury Fort has a long and amazing military history which spans back hundreds of years. throughout the years its gone through multiple changes but the one thing that remains is the fact that its been a bit part of defending the Thames and London… View Post
