Itty Bitty Wizard of Oz Plushies – Review

Not sure any of you who follow and read my blog are aware but one of my all time favorite movies is The Wizard of Oz, and when I was asked to do a little review on these delightful little plushies I couldn’t resist. You can find them from Hallmark which is known as a high quality brand for cards and toys for gifts, they come in a collection of different sets and naturally I went for the Oz set and I adore them, when they arrived at my door I opened the packaging up excitedly to find all the main characters from the film plus a flying monkey and of course the wicked witch of the west! (Which is my favorite) re-designed by Adan Chung who wondered what these popular characters would look like smaller and cuter, I received Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, a Flying Monkey and as I mentioned above, the Wicked Witch but I have just found out that also in the collection is Toto and Glinda the Good Witch of the North which I must as I am extremely tempted to purchase and add to my little bundle.   They are about three inches… View Post

    Meal out at Down Hall

On Sunday 28th January, my family had a little meal together, it was part the first meal we had all together since before Christmas as my aunt and her family went to Australia over the holiday period and a meal for my mum who’s birthday was on the 24th. We had the meal at this amazing house called Down Hall, just outside of Harlow in a little village called Hatfield Heath in the beautiful county of Hertfordshire..  I have only been there the once when the hall had an open day many years ago so our experience of it was lots of stalls and didn’t get a chance to try out the restaurant there. We got there a little earlier than everyone else so we went for a little walk around the grounds and explored a little bit, we found a cute little picnic area, amazingly considering this is January we didn’t need coats, it was so mild that it was actually warm, Amelia even complained about being hot.. which is nothing new as shes is a walking human radiator and then found that they had installed a play area with swings so that was the children happy for a… View Post

    Toddlerbike – Review.

A while back I was given the opportunity to try out and review the Toddlebike2, Toddlebike was founded by the lovely Jo Hockley and her son, who like all toddlers didn’t enjoy sitting in their buggy.. We had the choice of three different colors, Pink, Blue and Red and naturally, we picked red, its incredibly light, but extremely sturdy, the amount of times i’ve walked in and found my lump of a 6 year old sitting on it.. When it first arrived R wasn’t to sure of it, she spent more time pushing it around rather than sitting on it but it wasn’t long before she figured out the black bit at the end was a seat perfect for little bottoms, she mastered walking around on it inside so once we had a nice sunny day we headed outside and let her try out there too! They are designed to be ‘pre-balance bikes’ which are the best things to get children used to proper bikes when they are older as it teaches them how to balance first before learning the peddles and these are perfect for little legs. Its not to big either, and as I said is extremely light… View Post

Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup #blogtober

This is by far my favorite of the soups out there, I cant remember exactly where I saw this recipe originally but it has been tweaked and made into something that I am going to share with you today. one large butternut two or three sweet potatoes onion two cloves of garlic two pints of stock, mine was chicken salt and pepper Cut and peel the butternut squash and sweet potato, I used pre cut veg as I got these from my local sainsburys and they were half off but if you get the full veg you’ll need to cut them up to about the size of a 50p but nice and thick, set them aside and chop up the onion and garlic cloves Cook them off for a little bit, add in the squash and the sweet potato followed by the chicken stock and let simmer for about twenty minutes. Once the twenty minutes are up, take off the heat and leave to cool before popping it into a blender. I like mine a little thick and gloopy so I don’t add as much water in, grab some of your favorite bread and enjoy. Until next time. Mummy… View Post

Organix Punk’d Oaty Bars – Review

A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to try out and review Organix new product, Punk’d Oaty Bars and of course, given that my children are obsessed with breakfast bars at the moment, I had to,  We have used some Organix products in the past, R loves the carrot sticks like they are going out of fashion so I was excited to get these and give them a go. They come in two different flavours, Strawberry & Vanilla and Cocoa & Orange, The packaging is really attractive, so much so my son has asked for a bedroom of the similar colors as the Strawberry & Vanilla box which is always a good sign! They are perfect for popping in the pack lunch box for school, We made sure to take some with us when we went to the Village Fayre last weekend. There isn’t anything bad in them, all their ingredients is organic and everything else is normal every day ingredients which is always fantastic when it comes to food for children, I am one of those mums who avoid chocolate and sweets (apart from Halloween and Easter) so knowing that whats going into my children is all… View Post
