• Supporting a Vegetarian Child

Last week, my wonderful first born Kai decided that he no longer wished to kill and eat animals, he did tell me shortly after a meat meal but the fact that he not only ate it willingly and then after told me his choice was pretty sweet. I believe that, due to a trip to a local farm, he realized that animals are our food source and after much thinking and asking questions about meat to me, made the emotionally educated and rather grown up decision to remove meat from his diet and I completely support him, and if I am honest, I feel so proud of him. The beauty of it all is that I am branching out in the whole cooking department, we’ve made some delightful meals and have enjoyed them all, even my meat monster Amelia who very much doesn’t want to change her diet any time soon and thanks to a few friends I have on twitter I have made some lovely new meals and opened up my mind to new tastes and textures. How to Support a Vegetarian Child The thing that I have found most challenging in all of this is purely making sure… View Post

    Piccolo Puff Pastry Pinwheels

~ A while back I won some of these wonderful Piccolo pouches from a competition that my beautiful blogging friend Becca at My Girls and Me ran, we got given loads of these wonderful pouches, but Robin is now a little bit to old for some of them, she does enjoy the fruity ones and my creativity has turned a few of the savory ones into pasta sauces but I wanted to try something a little different and with the help of some puff pastry that I forgot I had in the fridge, I made these. ~ Puff Pastry Piccolo pouches of your choice egg or milk Its a pretty simple recipe so there isn’t much to it, roll out the puff pastry to a size that you want, depending on how much you want to make, roll out more.. spread the pouches contents onto the puff pastry, making sure that you are covering it and leaving a little space at the edges to help prevent spillage, roll up into a cylinder shape and cut that up into inch wide wheels. Place into a preheated oven at 180 for about 20 minutes, depending on how crispy you want them to… View Post

Meditations in my Heart by Gitte Winter Graugaard – Review

Gitte Winter Graugaard’s wonderful book The Children’s Meditation’s In My Heart, which was recently translated from Danish into English is a collection of short meditation’s that help bring more love into a child’s life, to help create an ability to switch off at the end of a busy manic and highly stimulative day and to teach them to take time to love themselves because that is one of the hardest things to do in this world. The Book itself contains four short stories to share with your child, both Kai and Amelia have really enjoyed the story telling and the almost calm illustrations that open on each story at the end of each story there is two different endings to create one which is for day time, back to play and with hearts full of love and bed time, time for sleep and dream of wonderful things full of love. It also has little reflections for you to do with your child, much like if its bed time and they’re already fast asleep, spend a little but longer just enjoying the closeness with your child. Mr S is a little bit of a skeptic with this sort of thing, a… View Post

    BCApril Meet Up.

I am a member of a secret group on Facebook full to the brim of awesome ladies and adorable babies, We had talked about meeting up a few times but the only issue we had was the fact that everyone was dotted around the country and there was never a settlement on when/where and what time would be best for all of us.. It went quiet about the subject for a while, but one of the wonderful ladies decided to mention it again as one of the dates that had been picked was slowly appearing in the calendar and the subject came up again, I convinced my mum and.. Off to Birmingham we go!!! R and I stayed over my mums house on the Friday night, our train in the morning was at 8:20 so it made a bit of sense to just have us stay over the night before rather than get a very panicky me onto a train all by myself. We woke up around 5 am, well R woke up at 5am, we just got up with her and got ready, packed up the buggy for the journey and was out of the house by around 7:30am..… View Post
